I remember doing this with my teachers
This just brought tears to my eyes. I miss this so much- holding onto Sara’s hands or two chairs and practicing switch jumps and butterflies over and over again… <3
And you know, it is like this. You go from this smiley, happy little girl with bangs, wearing a baggy white t-shirt and black skort, holding onto your teacher’s hands, your hair flying. Next thing you know - before you even realize how much time has passed - your hair is in a ballerina bun and you’re wearing a tank top and bike shorts that show off your slim, muscular body. You spend half your time in running shoes because you’re cross training, and your absolute favourite thing is helping the head instructors teach the beginner classes. You walk into that room and help a little girl with her switch jumps, holding onto her hands. You remember when that was you.

I love finding reasons to buy gifts for myself. Just bought a new pair of softshoes for finishing a final paper!
Gift to myself for healing my torn ligaments without dancing before I was allowed.

WHY have I never seen this before? “Strictly Irish Dancing” is an entertaining and informative peek into the world of Irish dancing. It’s much less cinematic than “Jig,” but shows a lot more actual dancing. It also provides a better overview of the history and culture, thanks to interviews with everyone from Orfhlaith Ni Bhriain to Gavin Doherty.
